Activities

Under the guidance of our course coordinator Dr. Mayank Kumar Singh and carrying the notes from various objectives of the Travel & Tourism Management (TTM) Cell, a Heritage Ghat walk was organized on dated 27 February 2023. Which was magnificently participated and completed by all students comprising from entire three levels of the TTM course viz. Certificate course, Diploma course and Advanced Diploma course. The basic motive for organizing this walk is to familiarize the students with the long stretch of historical and architectural treasures and monumental aesthetics which are erected in the form of Ghats and Heritage buildings at the holy crescent bank of river Ganga.
The Heritage Ghat walk started from the Assi Ghat in the enthusiastic and visionary leadership of our senior faculty member Mr. Jyoti Prasanna Mishra and it further got enriched with lectures and insightful deliverable from our faculty member Dr. Jaya Mishra, covering history and story behind each ghat of the stretch and successfully ended at Dashashwamedh Ghat under versatile vigilance of our esteemed faculty members Mr. Vivek Dubey and Mr. Anil Kumar. Under the discerning mentorship from these faculty members, the students were also got the idea about pragmatic approach towards preservation, conservation and maintenance of historical and heritage buildings and their relation with tourism.
In an attempt towards scaling mutual harmony and shared knowledge, with the guidance of our course coordinator Dr. Mayank Kumar Singh and under the fervent mentorship of our senior faculty member Mr. Jyoti Prasanna Mishra, students from Advance Diploma course got an overwhelming opportunity to take part in The Kashi-Tamil Samagam programme, an initiative of the central government as part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, with the aim to reviving the cultural and civilizational links between Varanasi and Tamil Nadu. With this participation, they learned a lot of vital things related with tradition, hospitality and tourism. A humble meeting with honorable Minister of external affairs of India, Shri S. Jaishankar, was super enriching for our students accompanied with many insightful conversations with him.
