College Prof. Anup Kumar Mishra, supervisors  Dr. Parul Jain, Dr. Ahuti Singh, Dr Siddharth Singh were also present.”

Students of Department of Economics organized Eco –voice over the pressing the “Emerging Issues in Economy” for the students of M.A. Ist semester students for the year 2024. This student lead event was conducted at room no. 201 new building. This event was organized by Dr. Shalini Singh and Dr. Ahuti Singh. In this event many students came up with their presentations on the above mentioned issues. Anaisha Varshney explored “Trump-O-nomics: ripple effects on India’s key industries” discussed the various effects that the Indian industries has to face after Trump’s win and mentioned that the IT sector will face increased operational costs. Other key industries that will be negatively impacted are pharma, solar and financial sector.The next presentation was presented by Divye Gattani, explored “The World Banking Crisis” and explained about various problems that the banks are facing in the current scenario such as NPA, Liquidity crisis, deposit crunch, structural shift, poor risk management and asset quality. Many students from the Department of Economics and commerce were present and all teachers of the economics department were present in it.

As part of the environmental conservation activity undertaken by the government, a group of students under the aegis of DAV.PG College in conduction with Dr. Ahuti Singh of the Department of Economics under the Eco Club (Environmental Committee) reached on 19/11/2024 the Sikhad block of Mirzapur for an environmental awareness and soil conservation program. During the event, farmers were appealed to plant more trees and conduct regular soil tests for soil conservation. On this occasion, it was also suggested to move towards organic farming using vermi-compost manure as well as  the importance of water, people, forest, land, animals (5J). About 25 students including Dr. Siddharth Singh, Anshuman Singh, Stuti, Sukanya along with Prof. Anoop Kumar Mishra, Coordinator of Environment Committee participated in the event.
Students of Department of Economics organized Eco-Voice over the pressing the issue of “Agriculture Challenges and Prospects in India” for the student of M.A. third semester 2024. The student lead event was conducted at the room no. 201 on 19 october, 2024.This event was organized by Dr. Shalini Singh and Dr. Ahuti Singh. In this event many students came up with their presentation on the several issues as agricultural. Fistly, Rural credt in India by Satendra Yadav. Satyendra Yadav highlighted the importance of rural credit in promoting agricultural and rural development. He discussed the two primary sources of credit: formal sources (banks, cooperatives) and informal sources (moneylenders, landlords). Government schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi and Kisan Credit Card provide direct financial support to farmers. Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) have also played a significant role in empowering rural communities. Yadav also addressed the interest rates, lack of financial literacy, and issues with credit quality. He emphasized the need for policy support, credit guarantees, cooperative movement, capacity building, and digital financial inclusion to address these challenges. Secondly, The Need for Rural Credit by Abhisheek Raj. He further emphasized the importance of rural credit in covering daily expenses for farming and personal needs. He also highlighted misconceptions regarding rural credit and discussed the different types of rural credit, including short-term, medium-term, and long-term credit. Third one presented by Anmol Pandey topic entitled “Beyond High-Yield Crops” Anmol Pandey argued that India’s focus on high-yield crops has led to a decline in nutritional value and a rise in malnutrition rates. He emphasized the need to diversify agricultural production and promote the cultivation of millets and other nutritious crops. Noor Mohammad focused the Land and Water Resources and discussed the crucial role of land and water resources in Indian agriculture. He highlighted the different types of agricultural land and soils in India, as well as the challenges of land ownership and land reforms. Mohammad also emphasized the  importance  of  sustainable  water management practices to address the water scarcity issue in Indian agriculture. The comprehensive overview of rural credit in India presented in this presentation which highlights the critical role it plays in supporting agricultural and rural development. While significant progress has been made in recent years, there is still a need to address the challenges faced by rural credit markets and promote sustainable agricultural practices. By focusing on a more balanced approach to agriculture, India can ensure food security, improve nutrition, and enhance the livelihoods of its rural population. All teachers of the economics department were present in it.
Students of Department of Economics organized Eco –voice over the pressing the issues of Viksit Bharat 2047, PM Mudra Yojna, Micro, small and medium enterprises, taxation, Expenditure on Nuclear energy for the students of B.A. fifth semester and B.A. third semester students for the year 2024. This student lead event was conducted at room no. 201 new building. This event was organized by Dr. Shalini Singh and Dr. Ahuti Singh. In this event many students came up with their presentations on the above mentioned issues. Prashant Tiwari and Ashutosh explored the critical role of MSME’s in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat and discussed the challenges faced by MSME’s sector. Kumar Harsh and Amay discussed the strategic importance of nuclear energy in meeting the country’s energy demands and its role in achieving energy security by 2047. Shivang Pandey and Kshitij analysed the changes introduced in the tax structure, including simplification of tax slabs and investments on infrastructure proposed in the Union Budget 2024-25. The event was a testament to the vibrant academic environment for the student. All teachers of the economics department were present in it.
Students of Department of Economics organized Eco-Voice over the pressing the issue of “Budget 2024” for the student of M.A. third semester 2024. The student lead event was conducted at the Econ lab on 3 August, 2024.This event was organized by Dr. Shalini Singh and Dr. Ahuti Singh. In this event many students came up with their presentation on the several issues as agricultural, MSMEs, Employment, Skilling, Human Resource Development etc. Mohit Jaiswal and Himanshu highlighted the importance of agriculture with the help of data analysis. While, Nitish and Ajay Sagar focused the Urbanization and infrastructure development in budget perspectives. He also pointed out the government policies on infrastructure development. Noor Mohammed and Rahul discussed some key points on employment and skilling, Raunak and Ramdev pointed out the human resource development. Saurabh and Anand Tiwari discussed the manufacturing and service sector. Brijlaxmi and Anu kumari explained the fiscal roadmap in budget 2024. Students had healthy, constructive and substantive discussions on the issues of Budget 2024. These healthy discussions will beneficial for the holistic development of students. All teachers of the economics department were present in it.
The Department of Economics, DAV PG College has started its second batch of 3 months self-financing certificate programme on Entrepreneurial Skills and Development Programme . On 30th November, 2023, inaugural and induction session of admitted students was conducted. The classes will start from December 1 , 2023 and will end on March 1 , 2023 .The students will study Entrepreneurial Skills, Communication and Data analysis as aa part of curriculum.

The session was organized by students of MA final year – Shashank Dwivedi and Sumit Jha and Dr Anoop Mishra , Dr Mayank Kumar Singh , Dr Parul Jain, Dr Ahuti Singh and Dr Siddhartha Singh were the speakers for the session.
