Overview of DAV PG College Library
The library at DAV Post Graduate College, Varanasi is a key knowledge center for students, faculty, and researchers. Its mission is to provide “the right document / information to the right reader at the right time.” It supports lifelong learning and is especially rich in materials in Commerce, Social Sciences, and Arts fields. The library has a large book collection. We have around 52,000 books, 56 periodicals. There is a rich reference collection , encyclopedias, atlases, dictionaries, multivolume works. The library provides access to digital resources via INFLIBNET (N-List) and the National Digital Library of India (NDLI). There are also some open access resources. The library of DAV PG College, Varanasi is not merely a repository of books but a dynamic academic environment. With its strong print and digital collection, research support systems, and the notable achievement of uploading all (80) Ph.D. Thesis to ShodhGanga, it stands as one of the most efficient and academically vibrant college libraries in Uttar Pradesh.
The library provides separate reading areas for different user groups — undergraduates, postgraduates, and PhD/research scholars. There’s a dedicated e-library / reading room for research scholars and faculty members with desktops, printer, and scanner. The library has Wi-Fi connectivity.
Overall, our library is a well-organized, resource-rich, and student-friendly facility. It plays a central role in supporting teaching, learning, and research across multiple disciplines. With a strong collection, good staff support, dedicated research spaces, and integration of e-resources, it is a significant academic asset for the college.
